How Juliette Aiyana and Chinese Medicine Can Help You.
Juliette Aiyana has over 20 years experience as a natural healer. With Chinese medicine she aims treatment at the symptoms of disease and the underlying cause of disease because symptoms tend to reoccur if underlying health issues are ignored. Instead of trying to fit you into a rigid treatment model, Juliette Aiyana, L.Ac., will tailor your treatment to fit your unique set of signs and symptoms. As your health develops and changes so will her treatments. That dynamic progression of energetic evolution manifests as healthy balance in body, mind and spirit. Juliette forms a compassionate and healing rapport with patients, offers effective Chinese medical care and teaches the valuable tools of self-care through patient education. Years of Experience: 20 Years Experience
Skills & Certifictions: My name is Juliette Aiyana, creator of Healthy Stuff University and owner of Aiyana Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs in NYC. I am a wife, mother, Nationally Board Certified acupuncturist, herbalist, activist, and nutrition author, in private practice as a natural healthcare practitioner since 1991. My passion drives me to teach and to write about all types of healthy stuff, about living a naturally fit and healthy lifestyle in body & mind, about instinctual mothering & attachment parenting, about optimal fertility, about health activism and about human rights. I've worked in the natural health profession for two decades, spending the past decade as a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine in NYC, in my practice, Aiyana Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs.
My career opened the pathway to teach workshops, to author a book, Chinese Medicine & Healthy Weight Management: An Evidence-Based Integrated Approach, to publish several professional journal articles, and to be interviewed for a bunch of cool magazines, podcasts, and other media.
Over the years, through teaching patients in my private practice and teaching workshops for professionals and families, I've learned that patients and students prefer to leave my office, or my seminar, with practical information that they can immediately integrate into life. Learning to take care of ourselves should be fun and active, so my teaching style is lively and interactive, incorporating group activities and learning games.
My education in healthy stuff includes a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine where I studied acupuncture, Chinese herbs, tui-na, Chinese nutritional therapy, as well as post-graduate nutritional studies though Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
During my training in TCM, I interned at Grand Meridian in Chinatown, NYC, and at White Crane Clinic in Florida where I studied Korean Constitutional Medicine, and food as medicine. I've earned post-grad certifications in: A Master's Class in Traditional Chinese Medical Gynecology and Herbal Formulas for Complex Patients with Bob Flaws, Acupuncture for the Cancer Patients through Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, HIV/AIDS Course with American Red Cross, Neurobiology of Addiction/Dual Diagnosis Certificate with PAR Integrated Addiction and Mental Health Delivery Systems, Cranio-Sacral Therapy with Upledger Institute, Infant & Child Massage, Anatomy of a Spirit with Caroline Myss & AHP, Reiki Master and I'm a certified instructor in Dr. Sear's L.E.A.N. programs.
For almost a decade before becoming a TCM practitioner, I practiced as a massage therapist specializing in injury and chronic pain and "Bodywork for the Childbearing Year" for pregnant women. I was an instructor and Department Chair at the Swedish Institute of Massage in NYC for two years and currently teach seminars about Chinese Medicine for practitioners and laypeople. As women's health activist and menstrual health advocate I maintain an honorable membership within The Red Web Foundation.
